Great weekend!

The puppies are all promised except 1 so if you are looking for an Alaskan Puppy mixed you better make it at NARC at 1pm next saturday as we only have 1 left for adoption!  The pups are all still at NARC until next weekend where they will then move in with their new adoptive families!  Quite a few smiling faces were leaving us this weekend, a few were leaving backwards hoping we would release the puppies this weekend…  Many picked up their auction items, few gifts are left to pick up and we are already starting to put items together for a future on-line auction hopefully coming up in the next month or so!  At the vet’s this week with our new dog Canelle for her spay and dental cleaning, she is 7 years old and a very sweet Shih-Tzu.  Also bringing Gypsy our new 8 year old Schnauzer for a check-up and more products for her ear infection.

Pictures of our work this weekend!

If you have perennials you wish to part with, we will take them at NARC!  I LOVE planting and have the property to do it so bring them to us… we are pleased to give them a permanent home Ha! Ha! Ha!  Here are a few pictures of the new patio and pergola for clients we’ve worked on this weekend, only a few of the projects we took on.  3 Sheds cleaned, drywall in the grooming area is removed, planter at the front emptied and earth recycled in planters in these pictures, we burnt tons of wood debris, planted annuals, split a few of my larger perennials to expand our garden at the pond, created a “look” patio for the water fountain which is now a plant fountain, etc…  Lots of work already done yet tons more to do this summer!

Great weekend!

We worked hard and did quite a few things at the farm,my body is screaming OUCH but it feels quite good getting out there all weekend and working outside!  I’ll take pictures of the new patio area with flowers and such that we did so you can see our hard work.  Some were out front cleaning the car port as it broke this winter, others were cleaning out the 2 other sheds, we removed the drywall on the ceiling of the grooming area, the insulation will be removed today while we have the garbage bin here to discard of debris.  Many things going on!

I know it’s always nice to have a day off such as today, NARC’s doggies are fortunate that they are already out and basking in the sun…  But I always feel bad for most shelter dogs on days like these, only having cleaners come from 10am to 2pm…

Update at home – Auction starts today!

Tiffany had a rough weekend, recovering from her hernia removal and spay!  She is such a snuggle bug, always hiding her head under my arm squeezing into me as much as she can!  She is healing well, is still on pain medications and antibiotics but was feeling much better yesterday!  Bijoux had 2 teeth removed, vet said she was approx 3 years old, her spay now done and ready for her loving home – oh wait – think we found her one this weekend!  She is to be picked up tonight at 6:30pm, lucky girl, we knew she wouldn’t last long after her spay, she is such a sweet dog!  We worked hard, burning branches that fell this winter and cleaning up the property.  Have quite a few trees that fell down, will have to cut them and will make good burning wood for NARC’s wood stove!  Our on-line auction is starting today on facebook, go bid on items – we’ve added a few wonderful gifts!

Poor Tiffany – News from our tests

Tiffany originally came in with bloody poop and pee, we have rectified her bloody poop but her pee was good for a while during antibiotics then it came back again.  We thought kidney stones which can be operated on and fixed but… unfortunately for her this was not the case.  She was shot, probably from a shotgun and her x-rays showed shards inside her, all over her body.  Luckily for her none hit major organs but now we know why she can’t lift her tail when she does her business…  shards hit the nerve ending so she can’t lift that tail properly as a regular doggy would do when pooping!  She is undergoing her spay tomorrow and medictions for constipation.  Just when I thought I’d seen it all, something like this makes our vet and I go HUH!?  I can’t believe someone would do that!  Although this is not our first rescue that has been shot, I really don’t get why people just don’t catch the dog and bring it to the closest rescue, SPCA, Humane Society or Pound!?  Call your city even, they usually will come and gather up the dog for free – easy to pick up the phone and dial!  Unfortunately there is not much more we can do for Tiffany, the shards are too small and we can’t certainly open her up everywhere to get them out so she will have to live her life with these peices of bullets in her.  She is active and it seems like they aren’t affecting her other than having bloody pee at times, yet it amazes me how she survived it all.

Auction Today

Thank you everyone who came out, even though it was quite the rainy day!  We had lots of fun chatting, tasting baked goods and the pizza was amazing!  We raised $930.00 for the items in auction, most of the money will be dropped off next weekend when people pick up their gifts.  Many gifts were not bid on so we will make an on-line auction on Facebook very shortly to raise funds for the rest of the items and give those who weren’t able to come a chance to bid!  Our bake sale brought us $117.10, 50/50 “find the Joker” draw $90.00 and the Knitted table donated $70.00 of their sales to NARC.  Thank you so much everyone for enjoying this wonderful day with us, volunteers worked hard getting donations, setting up and cleaning up the room, loading and un-loading the cars, baking, running around to pick up items and the list goes on.  What a wonderful TEAM we have at NARC, I am so proud to say they are all very good friends but most of all, my NARC family!  You gals/guys are AMAZING…
