Navan Animal Rescue Corporation currently has a few volunteers giving us less than 10 hours a week.
Being we now have foster homes, volunteering will the rescues is not needed. Our volunteers today take pictures of donations so we can post & sell to raise funds. Also helping at special events during summer months.
Foster homes help with the care and treatment of the animals such as:
- keeping the environment clean and safe
- feeding, bathing, nail clipping, grooming, etc…
- running errands such as picking up food and litter from suppliers
- helping to pick up abandoned animals and donations
- helping to plan and execute fundraisers
- office help
- dog training
These are just to name a few of the tasks we take on at NARC.
We do have Ted who volunteered to help us raise funds for NARC, he has all of our materials including business cards, T-shirt to show he is part of the NARC Team. Thank you for your support!
Hi do you have people going door to door collecting money? Someone came to us on Remembrance Day.
Hello,,
I am interested in volunteering with this foundation. I can volunteer on Saturday mornings with NARC and provided you still need the extra helpers. I am not too aware on who to contact. I am 25 years old with a permanent job, but would love to dedicate time to help out and be around dogs. I would love to give you more info via email, in person or over the phone.
Thank you.
Lydia
Hey Michelle,
My name is Cassy I’m not sure if you remember me but I use to volunteer with a girl named Lauren back when NARC was just starting out. We use to volunteer every weekend for about 3 years. I am Currently at college studying to become a Vet Assistant and I’m hoping to work with rescue dogs in the future. Anyways I was wondering if I could come back and volunteering again to get some more experience. I think the experience would be good to have for the future when I apply for a job with rescue animals. Let me know.
Thanks Cassy π
Unfortunately you have to be 18 years of age or older in order to volunteer at our rescue! Maybe call again in a few years time! Thank you.
Good evening, my name is Karl and I am a 16 year old bilingual, hard working and caring student, that would truly enjoy doing my 40 hours of volunteer work at your center. I am willing and able to work at various tasks, may it be with the animals or general help around the center. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Have a good evening
Hi,
I would like to know if it would be possible for me to volunteer, every Monday from September to December? I’ve been looking for a place to work with dogs, as I simply LOVE them. I would then have to stop from January to June (2016), as I will babysit my grand-daughter on a full time basis. I could then start back as of the following September (2016) or the following January (2017), if she doesn’t start going to a daycare as of September.
Thank you for getting back to me,
Carole
Hi Jennifer, we are always looking for volunteers over 18 years of age. I will e-mail you the details shortly. Thank you.
Hello,
I love animals and I would love to volunteer at this location. I am looking forward to learning everything NARC can teach me. I am currently unemployeed at the moment so I am available any day and anytime.
Thanks!
We would love to have you as a volunteer but unfortunately you need to be 18 years old in order to volunteer at the resuce! Sorry that we can’t help at this time.
My family adopted a puppy from you two years ago. I thought then that I would like to volunteer at the rescue. I am now 14 yrs old and would like to do some hours of volunteer. I currently can come in on weekends and weekday afternoons. Please consider me, I am reliable and love animals.
thank you,
Gabrielle Flood
I would be happy to become one of the members that volunteer with the NARC on weekends.
If you have a need for my time, please feel free to contact me.
Cheers!
Unfortunately you have to be at least 16 years of age to volunteer at NARC and at this time all the teenage positions are filled. Thank you and hoping to see you in a few years time!

Hi I am 11 and I was wondering if I could work with the dogs because I work very good with dogs and am a very good dog trainer please make an exception and let me work there
My 18 year old daughter is looking to volunteer at your organization (40 hours required for school β other hours purely for her large love of animals β dogs in particular).
We reside in Orleans (Trim and Waters) so are nearby and have a very animal friendly car. She should have her own license within a month or so, and I am good to drive whenever required.
She has experience working with dogs as she was employed at The EastWay Kennel on Milton Road during their busy times.
At home, 7 years ago we took in a rescued dog that had a number of severe issues. Her name is Kita, a rotweiller mix, who is now 12 years old, and has overcome many of her fears. We love her dearly.
Our home computer is not working at the moment, therefore, if you could please reply to this email address, it would be greatly appreciated. I will pass along all information to my daughter
I have also sent an e-mail to information@narc-charity.ca
Thanks in advance.
Hi!
I would love to volunteer with you. I have 3 dogs of my own and plenty of dog experience. I work from home so my schedule is very flexible. I have a pet friendly car so am able to pick up animals or supplies as needed.
I also have a 15 year old son that is interested in doing some volunteering with me. Do you have a minimum age for volunteers? Please let me know.
Thanks!
Nathalie
Hello! I would LOVE to volunteer with you! My only concern is that I have back pain. I couldn’t do much physical work but anything that requires sitting or walking would be perfect. I have adopted from you in the past and would love to return to help with all the wonderful work you guys do. Looking forward to hearing back from you! π
Volunteers have to be at least 16 years of age to work at the rescue, our positions for teens are all filled at this time so we are only accepting people over 18 years of age. Thank you.
Hello,
My youngest sister and I are interested in volunteering with you, and are wondering if you are currently looking for help. Also, is there a minimum age to volunteer? I am in my 20s and she is a mature 12 year old.
We would love to help!
Thanks,
Melissa
We always need new volunteers, you have to read and fill our volunteer handbook found under volunteerism, bring the last 4 pages signed when you first start. E-mail us to let us know when you wish to start, training is best on weekends, saturday or sunday at 9am. Thank you.
Hi!
Hi,
I would like to submit my name for volunteering. I am retired and formerly worked as a volunteer at the SPCA Laurentians. I have 2 rescued dogs and 1 cat and have experience working in a shelter environment i.e. cleaning, feeding, laundry etc. I am also computer literate. Please let me know if and how I can help.
Micheline
I would LOVE to volunteer but have no way of transporting myself there. If anyone wants to car-pool that would be fantastic! I live downtown (Lees) so if I’m on the way that’d be even better, but if not I can meet along us routes! I’ve worked with loads of animals (horses, rabbits, birds, cats, dogs, including fearful/anxious individuals) and am fairly flexible with hours since I’m still job hunting (just finishing my degree!).
Cheers,
Sara
We always welcome new volunteers and yes doggies are also welcomed to “work” or “visit” the farm. Our training are saturday or sunday mornings, preferably around 9am to noonish depending on how long you wish to stay, we are quite flexible. Once trained and the routine is set, you can work a few evenings with our volunteers then will be able to come in at your own pace. A quick e-mail to let us know when you wish to start, don’t forgt to bring the last 4 pages of our volunteer handbook on your first day and we’ll get you started. It is a great joy to work at NARC, you get to work “hands on” with our rescues, bathing, walking, cleaning, grooming, nail clipping, even helping with outside events, etc… so basically you become part of our family and our doggies become your doggies! We are quite flexible on hours of work once training is complete so by all means, when you have a saturday or sunday available, send us an e-mail! Thank you and hoping to have you part of our team soon!
My fiance Jennifer and I have been looking to volunteer at an animal shelter for recreation purposes along with bringing joy and positive energy to the dogs in the shelter. We were looking for opportunities to play with dogs, walk them, clean after them, help with grooming etc.
We have a 5 year old rescue border collie pitbull mix, he is very friendly, obedient, and gentle. We could always bring him to play with dogs if that is a possibility if not, that is ok as well. If there are any opportunities, our availabilities consist of but not limited to: mondays and tuesdays: after 3:30p.m. either a saturday or a sunday weekly.
Thank you for the in advance,
Our volunteers have to be at least 16 years old before starting to work with our doggies. Thank you.
We unfortunately don’t have any openings for teenagers under 18 at this time, please contact us again in a few years and we will be happy to bring you on board. We only have a few spots for teenagers needing their volunteer hours and they are filled at this time. Thank you.
Hi,
I’m 16 years old and in grade 11. I was looking to complete my volunteer hours and was wondering if you had any opportunities for me to do so. I have experience with animals, having 3 dogs in the past. I’m free on weekends and can be available on evenings as well. If you could please email me if you are interested that would be great, I would love to hear back from you and be able to help the animals.
Thank you,
Hailie
My co-worker and I have 2 volunteer days to offer a charitable organization. We would like to offer our services to you next week (Mon-Fri). Would this be possible?
We could run errands such as picking up food and litter from suppliers or
help to pick up abandoned animals and donations during the week.
Have you read our volunteer handbook? We will need the last few pages signed when you first start. E-mail us to let us know when you are ready to start volunteering with NARC. Thank you.
The work at NARC is with dogs – not in a stables. If you are interested in working with our rescued canines, feel free to read, fill and sign our adoption questionnaire! Once that is done, e-mail us to let us know when you are ready to start. We start new employees weekends for training, 9am is best this way you learn how to clean crates, etc… Thank you.

Hi! My name is Kate, and I am looking for volomteering hours. I am fourteen years old, and I have never lived without an animal in my entire life:). My dogs have a home, and I know that they are so lucky, and I would love to help the animals down at the shelter feel that they are loved and wanted too, even before they find a home. I live in navan so I can bike down often, and I am free most weeknights and weekends. I can help in anyway that you need, I’m a fast learner amd not squeamish so I can be useful technologically, doing handiwork, cleaning up, taking care of animals… I would love to help!

Hi there,
I am interested in volunteering with NARC and having the opportunity to help out the voiceless animals and make a difference in their lives. I have experience with animals as I lived on a farm my whole life, I worked at a zoo with animals and I’ve always had dogs at home. The animals are my pride and joy and nothing would make me happier than to help out in the organization. I have my own vehicle and would do anything to contribute my time. I am a college grad and would eventually like a career working and helping animals. If there is any way I can be of help, feel free to contact me.
Thanks for the great work that you do!
I am a university student and love spending time with animals, in any way! I love helping others and learning new things.
I hope that I can find a volunteer position, I can definitely volunteer during the weekend. π
Please contact me, I am very excited to get involved.
Dear sir or madam,
I am eager to be a volunteer. Experienced in looking after stray animals, I will surely be your asset. I am a new immigrant and planning to get a driving license in February. Thank you!

Hello,
My name is Isabelle, I will soon begin my tenth year in High
School. I would be interested in completing my volunteer hours at Navan Animal Rescue Corporation.
The reason for my choice for your organization is that I love animals, especially dogs. This is also Johanne Chartrand, a family dog breeder guide, who referred me to your website.
I will be available during the weekdays and the weekend before school begins (August 27). I wonder what would be the tasks assigned to me. I am currently available for an interview with you in English or French.
Thank you,
Isabelle
I am very interested in volunteering with your organization. I am a dog owner and i have 2 grandchild (dogs) as well. I presently work in a law firm during the week but i am available on weekends and holidays. I can assist in any area other than handyman work.
Hello!
I am very interested in volunteering with NARC and provided you still need the extra helpers; I was wondering how I would go about becoming a volunteer. Also, I am a high school student and It would be wonderful if I could complete my volunteer hours with you!
If it helps, I am a bit of an aspiring dog trainer and I would
love to do work directly with the animals (ex. training, grooming,
feeding, cleaning, walking and other exercise) but I am willing to do
any other jobs as well. I have some experience with graphic and web
design. My other hobbies include photography and drawing that could perhaps be useful for advertisements and dog adoption profiles on the website.
I sent an e-mail to information@narc-charity.ca but I am not sure if it was received so I just thought I would leave a comment here as well :).
Have a lovely weekend,
-Bridget
Hi there!
I love the new website!
I am interested in volunteering some of my time to your organization. I’m just not sure what I can do or if you could use me. I live in Cumberland so I’m not far away.
I am currently on Maternity leave and have 2 small children, however I am able to help with off site office work or picking up donations and supplies. I would love to help put together and monitor a facebook page for you or do some gate keeping for emails from your website.
During the winter months I do have more time on weekends and as the boys get older i will be more able to volunteer time at the farm or with fundraising efforts.
If there is anything I can help with please let me know.
Thanks
Liz
