Vet’s this week

We are almost there for Rex’s surgery, almost have all the funds we need,  lacking a few hundred dollars but very close to our goal!  We will have to schedule him for next week, had a few emergencies last week so weren’t able to get him done this week.  After his surgery, Rex will need physio therapy a few times daily to keep his legs moving and used to his surgery!  He will also have many follow-up vet appointments so we need to ensure both the vet and NARC are available for all of this…  Thank you so much to those that have supported us with Rex’s surgery, he certainly deserves it!

Vet’s today!

We have Daniel that has undergone his neuter, rabies and DA2PP this morning.  When I went in at lunch today with Piper, Libby was on the table getting her spay and was sleeping like a log.  Gabriel was patiently waiting for his neuter, Rabies and DA2PP, they are probably working on him now.  At 6:30pm I am bringing the new 4 puppies for their DA2PP and their mother for a poop sample and check-up then coming home with the lot!  The new puppies got a very well deserved bath last night after they arrived, they were quite filthy, so is their mother but she may have to wait a day or so, until we know what is wrong with her.  Don’t want to stress her too much right now, assumed she had parvo at first but seems to be like our Ladybug, metrodonizale helped and she is no longer pooping blood and we are now in the eliminating process, testing to see what is up with her!  We will place her on stomach food, we’ve seen this once before with Ladybug who ended up with a very upset stomach.  New mom is drinking well and eating lots of hot dogs for the time being, until we figure out with our vet what she has – if we can that is, we’ve never really been able to figure out what Ladybug had when she came in, even with all the blood work, poop samples, parvo & giardia tests, etc…  May be another mystery case here!!

We always need donations for veterinary costs so if you can help, now is the time as we have quite a few surgeries up ahead, including our wonderful Rex going for his patella sugery very soon!  You can always contact Blackburn Animal Hospital with your credit card or visit them with a cheque to place money on our account, payable to them if you are going to the vet’s.  Or send us a cheque, payable to NARC, 4388 Navan Road, Navan, Ontario, K4B 1H9 or donate through paypal.  Thank you everyone who have supported us with Rex’s x-rays and future operation, your donation has and will help in reducing the amount owed.

Vet’s friday & Weekend

I went to the vet’s on Friday with Aphrodite’s two male puppies for their second DA2PP and check-up, they have thumbs up again from the vet’s.

Major cleaning and re-organization at NARC’s this weekend.  On Saturday, I javexed all the walls in the back room, re-organized all the doggies’ sleeping arrangements, giving them and us more room to move around.  Took me all morning but it smells and looks great!  On Sunday, I did the same with the nursery, javexed all the walls, re-organized so that Abigal was able to move in and get the room pretty much to herself!!

Vet’s tonight

I went to pick up Willy from his neuter and shots, did a poop sample and he had hookworm so is now on medication for that.  Basilissa went for her hernia repair, spay and dental cleaning with shots, she is so sweet and sat on the passenger seat all the way home and didn’t say a word.  Raphael also went for his neuter, dental cleaning and shots, he is doing very well and will certainly find a home very soon, he is a toy breed!  Naya also went for her spay, one of Nyleina’s pups – too adorable!

Now for Rex, we went for his multiple x-rays tonight and seems it definitely is Patella surgery needed for both hind legs.  The left leg being worst so we are trying to raise funds to have his surgery done next week.  I’d like to say a special THANK YOU to those that have already donated towards Rex’s x-rays, it helped tonigh as we also wanted to x-ray his hips to see if they were normal.  Luckily for him – it was thumbs up for his hips – thank god!  But, really would appreciate help so that we can get him done next week or the following week so he can start his recovery in my home and physical therapy!  Please find it in your hearts to help him and others who are still awaiting their spay/neuter, dental cleanings, shots, etc…  Thank you again for your support towards our beautiful and gorgeous doggies – we love them and see that so do all of you!  BIG kisses and hugs from all of our babes at NARC!

Vet’s this week!

Even Dr. Mobarak made a face last night when I showed him the horrible teeth the two female puggles (Demetria and Agatha) and Michael the beagle had.  Although, he did say they looked quite young, considering!  It is almost impossible to tell age with these guys, the younger ones will be easy as they weren’t in the mill long so their teeth aren’t totally rotten but anyone above 2-3 years of age will be harder due to bad teeth!  I’ve already talked to Dr. Cameron, he is the one doing surgeries today and they have undergone multiple extractions each already!  Poor babies, will be on antibiotics for at least a week, possibly 10 days – will know more tonight when I pick them up and bring them back home to NARC!  Cassiel is also there today, the brown Miniature Pincher, he also will have a dental cleaning although his teeth looked 100% better than the others!

Little angels!

4 of our little angels are being dropped off at the vet’s tonight for their spay/neuter and dental cleaning with definitely multiple extractions, shots, check-up, etc…  Please, if you wish to support our angels by donating to help with these surgeries, it would be greatly appreciated and will help them to no longer be in pain!  I should take pictures of those teeth, amazing what they have been living with…  Bad enough that their nails were over an inch long, a few weren’t eating and no wonder, they are probably in pain so are now on soft foods only.  Unfortunately, these surgeries can’t wait, we will not let these poor souls suffer any longer than what they have already suffered through.  And their dental needs!!!  HAS to be done this week!

You may bring monies to Blackburn Animal Hospital to place on our account or send a cheque payable to NARC at 4388 Navan Road, Navan, Ontario, K4B 1H9.  You may always visit us at the farm, we are opened every weekend, both saturday and sunday from 1pm to 3pm.  There is also paypal but keep in mind that we don’t get the funds through paypal for at least 10 days.  Thank you so much for your support with these beautiful babes, they certainly deserve it!

Update at NARC

We still are raising funds for Rex’s Patella surgery, getting his x-rays done this week, starting the process immediately.  We also have a few new dogs to spay/neuter, few need dental cleaning, one has a hernia to be removed, shots to be done, etc…  They are so sweet, little angels watching over us and pulling at our heart strings.  They are puppy mill dogs, they are coming around slowly and of course, a few have stolen our hearts already.  One of the female puggles has gotten to me and so have 2 of the miniature pinchers.  The puggle is so sweet, although very submissive, she now comes for cuddles and goes on her back for a nice belly rub, she has started giving me kisses and is just too adorable.  Although, she will have to wait for her spay as she is quite healthy and young, a few of her mates need immediate attention and are going to the vet’s tomorrow for surgeries (Spay, Dental, Shots, Check-up, etc…)!  Pictures coming shortly of our little angels and in a few weeks time, if you are looking for a smaller breed dog – come and visit us to meet our new babies!
