There is a lot of questions out there, feel free to e-mail me or call me if you wish to have any information or have questions.  Those of you who have already been here and have seen our pooches know this place is awsome and we are keeping our chin up and continuing with busines as usual!  Thanks everyone for your support in “raising the roof” for NARC, quite a few donations have come in including another $200 today!  We have ordered and paid for the trusses with the $1,377.47 that has already been donated and they will arrive next week.  Anyone out there know how to install these?  We will need to find a company to install the trusses when they get here!

Vet update, dog check-ups

Diego did very well with his Rabies and DA2PP shots tonight, his check-up gave him a clean bill of health so we are sure he will be leaving us on Saturday for Kingston.  A lady came to see him this week and fell in love, so did I, he reminds me so much of my Quiero (my chihuahua that was lost in my house fire!).  We also brough Maya to have her eyes re-checked, she is doing well and her eye infection is gone.

Now to tell you about Zhen…  When I dropped her off yesterday, chatting with the girls I completely forgot to mention her eye.  Tonight, when I picked her up I saw the lump was still there so I got both vets to come and check it out in the vet room.  We were all wondering what it was, when you raise her lid – underneath it looked like zits so we poked it with a needle to get a sample and there it went, draining like a zit so we’ve drainked it all out and she is on eye cream and antibiotics to help her eye and a help a start of Kennel Cough.  I have to say that this dog is the best dog ever, 4 of us playing with her face and me patting her to keep her calm, this was all done while she was awake and must have hurt but she did such an amazing job.  Not once did she try to snap or bite which any other dog certainly would have.  She is an amazing little girl and whoever adopts her will be the luckiest family out there.  It is very rare that girls like that come to us, I’ve only seen Inka take on stitches while awake and be good about it…  Some of you may say, yes but it’s only a needle and we get needles every so often and yes we get used to it – but in the lid of YOUR EYE!?  I don’t think anyone would be as brave as our little Zhen was today.

Yasmin did get a dental cleaning and spay, she is doing fine, so is Ebony and Sabina!  All are recovering at home now, resting for the night and crated with short walks for the next 5 days – then all ready for their forever loving homes.  We are sure this group will be gone quite fast, they are all way too nice, docile and may I add GORGEOUS!

Vetting this week

We bgought Ebony, Zhen, Sabina and Yasmin for their spays at the vet’s tomorrow morning.  Yasmin may need a dental cleaning, maybe some extractions – we’ll see what they say when they check her tomorrow morning.  Zhen has a lump on her eye so we will either have it removed, drained or take a sample to see what it is, again to see what the vet’s think about it all.

Vet update for the week

I dropped off Mistress and Yodo this morning for their dental cleaning.  I picked up Keebee, Yoga, Sunny and Remington from the vet’s tonight, were there for their spay and neuters, shots updated.  I had asked for a urine analysis for Sunny as I was pretty sure he had a urinary tract infection and yep – he did.  He is on antibiotics for the week, he was so happy when I picked him but and excited to see me again, he really got attached to us quickly for someone who was so scared when we picked him up.  I also went back to pick up Mistress and Yodo from our other vet’s this afternoon, they got their much deserved dental cleaning and shots updated.  All in all, a good day at the vet’s, other than the urinary tract infection – all others have a thumbs up and are healthy!

Picked up Mayan and Bermuda

They are doing very well…  For Mayan, it was like nothing had happened, she was excited to see me and was jumping all over so I had to calm her down so she doesn’t bust a stitch!  She had a broken canine which we decided to have removed as it was to the root so she is on antibiotics for that for a few days to ensure it doesn’t get infected when she eats!  Otherwise, she is going to her forever home on Friday as planned and her family is excited!
