More projects finished

Helene came to help me during the day Monday and Tuesday to install the siding on the new extention, move the left over siding out of the driveway and continue cleaning the trailer!  See pictures below of our progress with the siding, only the small top side to finish now which will have to wait for the weekend as daylight hours are short now and when we get home from work – it is DARK!!!  We also installed christmas lights, not really for decoration but more to give us light outside during winter months – until we can find an electrician to come and help with permanent lighting that is!!  On Monday night, both of us and Amelie kept on with cleaning the trailer – will take pictures of that shortly to show you our progress but it’s looking good!  Now we have room for our wood for the winter and more…  We have enough paper journal so are asking people to stop bringing some for now.IMG_0256_JPG

Update at the farm

Wednesday I dropped off George at the vet’s for his neuter, went to get him last night and he is doing very well and recovering from his neuter this weekend.  George is a gorgeous 3 year old Collie mixed Border Collie.  Will post pictures soon so you can see him.

Today, cement truck came and we cemented the barn – quite the work – I am completely exhausted and it’s only 4:45pm Ha! Ha!  Raking and walking through soft cement is quite hard but we did the best we could.  It definitely will be better than it was before Ha! Ha!  Tomorrow morning we start the siding on the two extensions LOWES built us and this weekend we hopefully finish insulation and drywall inside NARC, around the new windows and ceiling in the grooming are.  Wish us luck!

The Weekend

On Friday I went to the vet’s with the last 4 Korona Puppies and they received their second DA2PP and Rabies shots.  Vet was very happy to see how healthy they were and how the scabies were completely gone.

This weekend, went into a “finish the project” mode and finished painting parts that weren’t done in the Main Entrance.  Started re-organizing both sheds, main entrance and Gazebo at NARC.  I removed the siding in the extention (Gazebo) this weekend, slowly getting it ready to build shelving!  Lots was done but still tons to be finished.

We are looking for an electrician, if you know anyone who would like to do a little bit of work for NARC, few lights, plugs – please have them call us!  Not a big job but few hours work for sure!

Here are some pictures of one cleaned shed and Main Entrance at NARC.

Vet’s this week

Last night I went to the vet’s with the 4 beagle puppies, yup, 4 gorgeous beagle pups, mother and father both 14 inches so on the smaller side of the beagle breed.  They received their 1st DA2PP, check-up and dewormer.  Although are ready this weekend for adoption being they will be 8 weeks old on Tuesday (born Sept 9th), most are already spoken for from peopel seeing them last weekend when they came in!

Also dropped off Saber, Korona and Chad for their spay/neuter, am picking them up very shortly for their recovery here at NARC.  Korona and Saber already had their shots from their last visit at the vet’s and Chad is getting his Rabies and DA2PP today.  They will be ready the following weekend for adoption, giving them a good recovery time here at NARC.

Weekend passed

We worked hard on Friday to “spook the woods” for the walkathon on saturday and then worked even harder on saturday morning burning the left overs from the LOWES project.  We had the debris and left overs in front of the modular home and all got together to move it or burn it.  What a great team NARC has, everyone pitching in, few fire bugs keeping the fire going all day – great team work!  The walkathon was a lot of fun, we chatted so much that we ended up starting very late and walked only the woods but we promise to make it bigger and better again next year.  In hopes of having it just before dark to make it even more spooky and fun!  The dogs enjoyed their walk in the woods with all the monsters and zombies in the bush!  We have pictures to share, will post them under events shortly.  Have a look at the pictures from the Lowes project and teams at work under “Events” then “LOWES Project”.  Enjoy!

Many updates – LOST Dog

Lowes came yesterday and finished the front extention – thank you to each member of LOWES staff who came to help NARC – you guys are amazing!  Now to install siding on both projects LOWES built before winter!

Dropped off Cherry at the vet’s for her spay and at the same time brought Missy again to check her face as it is not healing right.  She is now on skin antibiotics and we were told to keep flushing it with the saline and keep creaming the area twice a day.

LOST DOG:  Black small short haired dog was found near Jeanne D’arc last night and brought to us by a client.  If you have lost your puppy, give us a call, we will need proof of ownership (pictures, vet invoices) before releasing any dog brought into our care.

Updates at the farm!

Don’t forget to fill your pledge forms, bring them to work and have your walked pledged for this upcoming saturday’s Spooky Woods Doggy Walkathon.  We have a few zombies walking the woods who can’t wait to meet all of you WHOA HA HA HA HA!  PledgeForm2014

Lowes is almost finished their project, they are such an amazing group and a few said they would come back on Wednesday to finish off.  I can’t wait for you to see all the pictures of everthing that was going on this weekend.

I just found and of course bought a heavy duty pantry and 2 heavy duty book shelves.  Was thinking of doing wall to wall cabinets in the grooming area, well with these it will be accomplished.  They are being delivered this afternoon so will paint that wall we haven’t had time to get done over the weekend and install the new cabinetry!

So many things on the go this month, it’s AMAZING!  Thanks again to LOWES employees, our wonderful NARC volunteers whom have worked really hard the last few days prepping for painting, then re-installing everything back to it’s place!
