Vet’s yesterday

I went to pick up the two groggy boys last night, Bruno cried all the way home, complaining how much it hurts and although Bailey was quiet, he did cry when coming out of the truck.  Poor boy also had a hernia removed so double surgeries for him.  They will be inside for at least 5 days recovering from their surgeries and be posted as available for the following weekend.  Please don’t ask to see these boys this weekend, it will be a definite NO!  If you are interested in them, you can fill the adoption questionnaire, send it along with your veterinary reference and we will get you pre-approved for the following weekend.  Thank you for your understanding!

Vet’s today

I dropped off Bailey and Bruno at the vet’s last night, both are getting their neuters this morning, Rabies, DA2PP and check-ups.  Yep, Bruno is now ready to head out in the big bad world, what a changed little man, loving everyone he meets, playfull, bouncy and just overall a regular boxer now!  He will surely find a home very soon but we will be picky with the family we select so that he doesn’t revert back to being scared of strangers and trying to protect his family!  God, you should see my upper leg today, Bailey was sooooo excited about going for a walk and car ride that he jumped me, abused my leg and now I have a scratch as long as my hand on my upper leg, hurts like hell today.  Big lug – gotta stop getting so excited you big goof! Ha! Ha! Ha!

Thank you

We would like to say a big thank you, sending hugs and kisses to everyone who has donated lately.  We had 400.00 donated by Help Ottawa Fur Kids; a young girl asked for money on her birthday and raised 220.00 for us.  One of our rescues Buddy and his mom Rachel came with harnesses and other donations, few volunteers got together and brought a trunk full of food, treats.  The Manotic Classic Boat Club got together and brought towels and donations.  All in all, a busy weekend mowing the front property, weed eating in the dog runs and visitors with gifts for or doggies or money for our vet’s.  It was nice and hot and although we had to bring the doggies in a bit earlier each night due to the fireworks in the area, it was quite pleasant!

Vet’s this week

Last night I dropped off Zeke and Gabe at the vet’s for their neuters, rabies, DA2PP and check-ups this morning.  I also brought Jiji, Bear and the new male lab puppy for shots and check-ups.  They will now be ready for adoption!  I went back to PetCetera last night and bought more doggy bones at .05 cents each which was quite a great deal!  We now have enough bones to last a few months, every night before bedtime, our doggies get a chew stick or bone so this was definitely a good buy.  We now have over 1,800 bones for them – YIPEE!

Kids are amazing!

We often have kids coming to donate to NARC, as young as 2 years of age which always makes me feel so proud of our young generation!  A few of our cliets daughters always ask for NARC gifts for their birtdays and bring over the donations they have received.  We have a young boy celebrating his b-day this weekend, donations to NARC is his request and he will be dropping them off sometime next week.  We had a young 2 year old lately that came and donated some items she raised funds for and now…

As some of you may recall, we were one of the charities selected for the Fundraising at Avalon Public School and they have presented us with a cheque earlier this week – we are so proud of all of them for having supported two charities in their community!  I wasn’t able to go personally, Dave represented NARC twice at this event.  But, I do wish to send out a big THANK YOU personally and from all volunteers.  We send you big HUGS and KISSES from all the pooches we have at the farm!

Sara, this one is for you!

This is your baby girl Cloette, when she arrived at NARC…  This is how the dogs get to us, matted, dirty, stinky, bad teeth, not spayed, no shots…  Just to give you all an idea!  I am sure Sara will post an after picture on facebook and send me one so you can see her cute little face now!!!

For those of you who don’t know Sara is one of our volunteers, she adopted Cloette after fostering her for a while, she fell in love with this cute little girl who definitely loves her mommy!  Sara and her mother Kim are also the ones who named her when she arrived at NARC – although they had never seen her this way – I had already groomed her by the time volunteers met Cloette!Cloette
