Nicky at the vet’s

She was so great, didn’t say a peep or even bother when we checked her temperature and nothing either when the doctor gave her a DA2PP and then Rabies. She is such a great girl, anyone will be lucky to have this one – she is too sweet and well mannered! Now ready for adoption, thumbs up from the vet’s, approx 3-4 years old.

Vet’s Fri & Sat

Went to the vet’s on Friday with 8 of Sephora’s puppies, it went very well, everyone got a thumbs up from the vet, their 2nd DA2PP boosters and check-ups. The next morning, saturday, had an appointment at 11am at the vet’s again with Brooklyn’s 9 puppies. All went well again, vet checks and their 2nd DA2PP Boosters. It was also a nice adoption weekend, few puppies have found homes although we still have quite a few left for adoption and 2 new girls that arrived this week – we think Keeshond mixed – are extremely gorgeous! They have already been for their first DA2PP and check-up!

2 became 4

Was meeting with the pound last night to pick up 2 puppies, needless to say I ended leaving with the 2 puppies and another 2 medium sized female dogs. They were all really good in the car ride home, both adults were really good on their walk to show them the property and other doggies although insecure – they are really nice and friendly! They were even good with the cat, who came to say his hello of course and I only had to say “NO” and the dogs remained by my side which is amazing considering most new dogs would have ripped my arm off to chase the cat lol. So that being said, they are really sweet. The bigger black dog which we named Kalua is very shy, she wouldn’t come to the other volunteers, even if they reached out to let her sniff their hands, she is going to come around – poor thing! She is young, probably 1 year old, wonder what she has been through already to be so shy. Brandy the other black beauty that arrived is a bit shy but comes for cuddles and wants to be by our side. Both walk really well on the leash, stay by your side, good with the cat – all this in one evening – can’t wait to get to know them more!

2 more arriving tonight!

Pound called again, two other puppies need our help so I will be going to pick them up tongiht and bring them home to NARC. Volunteers will take care of the doggies while I am on the road, it surely will be nicer driving tonight compared to when I picked up Nicky – the german sheppard – it was snowing a lot and the visibility on the highway was really bad! Nicky, has lost her owner and ended up at he pound – at first on hold in case her human might make it but unfortunately that wasn’t the case so she ended up with NARC. You can tell she was loved, she looks great, loves attention and wants to be with people. I’ll keep you posted on the new arrivals soon!

Everyone else at NARC is doing well, the poopers – oops mean puppies are very cute and sweet, they love being loved and handled – that’s for sure! I am sure they will find homes quickly as they are too adorable.

We’ve already gotten e-mails from the 3 puppies from Sephora that left last weekend and our clients are really happy with their little ones, say they are really good dogs and learning quickly! Of course, we got an e-mail from Lilac’s new family and they too are very happy with him and say he loves to cuddle! I’ll post their e-mails to the dog’s profiles shortly so you can read the comments made!

New dog

The german sheppard we picked up last night is so sweet, great on walks and really good with everyone she has met. Although she was a bit shy and cowarded with the boys at first, she will be fine in a few days. She had made NARC her home quickly, was eating and drinking, wanted more treats and followed us everywhere. She was even scolding the puppies for them to stop barking with her tail wagging of course! She will make someone very happy once ready for adoption! Now to the vet’s for her spay next week and shots!

More renovations coming up, for those that haven’t come for visits lately, you will see tons of new things! Inside fencing walls should be done very soon, hopefully early next week and this will make things so much better for play time and cleaning time! We will update you with pictures!

New doggy arriving tonight

The pound called so I will be picking up another dog from them after work, she will then be booked next Monday for her spay, shots, check-up, etc… Brooklyn and Sephora will also soon be dry and ready for their spays. Brooklyn is in a foster home and doing very well, Sephora is still with us at NARC, such a sweet girl! We’ve re-arranged NARC again, yep, always changing things around, making things easier for our volunteers. We’ve given Baldwin the Sunroom with Sephora’s puppies so that if he busts out of his crate again, he can’t bother the other doggies and will be in a fenced in area! On saturday morning, we walked in at NARC to find Baldwin loose, few messes here and there and we had to throw out Tarzan’s cage as he had tried to get loose himself and completely ruined the front of his crate. We had to pry it open with a hammer! We’ve moved Coco and Tarzan in the back room with Cyan, Blue and Boris to give their room to Sephora’s puppies so that all of the pups are at the front of the house. This will also help Coco and Tarzan, they will remain calmer back there alone, they would get over excited when clients came for visits with their doggies or if we had doggies loose at play!

Needless to say, if you have strong large/medium metal crates to donate, we surely would take them!

With all the changes, moving everyone around, javexing and cleaning, we haven’t had time to paint this weekend although we’ve received many gallons of colored paint so think we have plenty to finish the NARC home!? Thanks everyone for your donations and support – I can always count on you to get our tasks done!

Few doggies have left us this weekend, into their loving homes and that included our little Lilac. Although we were very happy for him, we also felt sad he was leaving!! He’s been through so much and we’ve all gotten so attached, he is in great hands though and they have already e-mailed saying he is a sweet dog and that they are in love!
