Shaen – please call us!

I know you are going through a hard time but your life is important to me and others at NARC, life is already short to begin with… Please contact us and let us know where you are! We are worried, we love you and want to ensure you are OK. Please let me (Michelle) know how and where you are so I can come and get you and stop worrying… Or, you know where I work – come see me!! You are really important to all of us! We need to hear from you Shaen, please!!! I am sure we can fix everything that is going on, you need to open up to me a bit more and I am sure that I can help!!! I was just talking to your home councillor on Sunday about you coming for sleepovers once in a while… if you want! It would give you a break from everything!!!

Surgeries yesterday

All went well with our surgeries yesterday, Tequila had her uterus and ovaries removed – 3.3 kg of infection gone! She was feeling so well compared to the night before, walking around the farm and wanting to say hello to everyone and sniff everything! Buster got his neuter and shots so he will shortly be ready for his loving home once we train him further. He is a puppy mill dog so many new things to learn such as walking on a leash, stairs – he certainly got the loving of humans down path and wants to be held at all times!! Dropping off Morrighan tonight for her spay and will let you know how that goes!

Projects started…

Volunteers are getting together and helping with the pergolas to be built, giving our doggies shade on hot summer days – well, if summer can actually get here and sun can actually come out for a day or so… and giving us and clients a nice sitting area! Others started installing patio stones in front of the storage trailer to build large garbage containers, with the 2 week pick up now, it always looks messy with garbage cans in front of the NARC home so we are trying to find solutions to our problem by building nice containers! Too bad for the rain on saturday which stopped all the projects halfway in hopes to getting them finished this weekend – if it can STOP raining!!! We also started digging to install patio stones in front of the mobile home, between the deck and dog runs, to make a cute area for planters and our fountain! Nice long weekend ahead, let’s hope it is nice and sunny so we can get a few things going or finished! We still have the soffits to finish installing on the mobile home if you wish to help and tons of other projects at the farm…

Tonight, I am dropping off two dogs for major surgeries at the vet’s, they have pyometra, very deadly if not done immediately! Vets will remove ovaries and everything… Send your good thoughts and prayers that they do well…

Today’s Garage Sale

A huge thank you to all that donated items to today’s garage sale and of course to our wonderful volunteers who were there last night setting up and again bright and early this morning to finish the set up and be at the sale. We raised $283 and also ended up with many new items for either our next garage sale or on-line auctions! At the end, many of the vendors gave what they hadn’t sold to NARC so we loaded it and brought it in our shed for other events. As I said to most who brought items to NARC or the vendors who gave today, what we can’t sell to raise funds for NARC in either Garage Sales or On-Line Auctions will either end up in a group home (already donated some dishes, cushions and such to them today!), Cuba such as shoes donated or to families in need in the area! Your scrap is always someone else’s treasure – don’t throw out – donate and we’ll take care of the rest!!!

We still have the three sets of skis, will prepare a “for sale” area on our website soon to show you pictures of some of the items that are up for grabs throughout the year. Thank you again all for your support and always being there when we need you – YOU ARE AMAZING and the doggies here really appreciate it, if they could tell you – well, they can and will either lick your face off our snuggle with you when you visit!

Vet’s last night – set up on Friday!

I dropped off Phantom and Cyan at the vet’s for their spay and neuter last night, they are young so pretty sure everything will go very well. Picking them up tonight to bring them home for recovery.

Tomorrow we are setting up our tables at the Navan Fair Grounds, for Saturday morning’s community garage sale. We have plenty of household items, doggy items, books, movies, bike equipment… really nice things that clients and volunteers donated for this event. Come have a look if there is something you like. We have kept a few items for the on-line auction coming up but otherwise, we even have a few sets skis, poles & boots!!!

Friday raised $1,000.00

That is excellent, Tessa and the group of volunteers (performers and helpers) have raised $1,000 for NARC. Some I know raised money at work and brought it to the event, my daughter won the 50/50 and gave her share back to NARC. Everyone pitched in and gave their part – was such a nice evening and I am so proud of everyone who helped either organize, raise funds, perform, take pictures or film this event, etc… Thank you all again so much for everything you are doing for the babies we have at our rescue!

What a great evening last night!

Wow, what a great show the performers put on for us, I’ve filmed a few, the place was full and it was really nice! Well, nice isn’t even coming close to what we saw – AWESOME – AMAZING – TALENT – WOW… Everyone loved their evening, young ones from 3 years old strutting their stuff and singing for us – it was just the best thing ever – I was in awe at the talented young girls and boys out there all the way up to 15 years of age! Not sure how much we raised yet but will find out tomorrow when Tessa comes to volunteer. She did a great job organizing this event for NARC and is also a GREAT performer – amazing young lady! I think all the volunteers were impressed with our little Tessa, putting on this show and fundraising for the doggies she cares for every week – you ROCK Tess! We love you… Thank you again to all the performers who volunteered last night, parents who had to bring them to our event and spent the night with us. Big thank you to our volunteers for coming and raising funds in the process with those that couldn’t attend!! And a HUGE Thank you to Tessa and those that helped her organize this, hoping we can do this again one day!! Everyone I spoke to really enjoyed their evening.
