Adopted

8 week old Puppies for adoption, border collie mixed?? They were strays on a reserve in Regina, we had 19 pups brought here, three different litters. These are possibly siblings, 3 males, black one is female. 1st DAPP, Strongid-T, Révolution, heartguard & daily medicated baths done to cure lice. Last bath was with comb to remove all debris! They are super sweet, 2.5kg and brown is 3kg, quite small right now but will certainly become medium sized.

Pistachio – 8 month old German Sheppard. Outgoing personality, funny to he with, loves kisses and attention. Great with kids, other dogs, critters, etc.. Not spayed yet, has Rabies & DAPP, dewormed & heartguard done regularly. Small hernia that should be repaired during her spay.

Tiffany – What would you do with those big ears following you everywhere in the house? I know it makes me smile every time – those ears… and that face!!!! Way too cute for words. Mixed breed, probably some Min Pin in there, lots of energy and looking for an active family. Tiffany is spayed, vetted, trained, good off leash and on recall, even gives hugs – just adorable. Approx 3.5-4 years old.

Mocha – sweet 6 year old Yorkie, quiet, loves attention, cuddles and her belly rubs. Will follow you everywhere, pee pad trained and also goes outside now for her business.

Cashew – 8 months old German Sheppard female, super sweet and submissive, loves attention and belly rubs, will follow you everywhere. A bit on the timid side with strangers but comes around quickly. Such a great personality for a puppy, wants to please, quiet and just beautiful. Great with kids, other dogs, critters, etc…. Not spayed yet, has Rabies & DAPP, dewormed & heartguard done regularly.

Boomer – Rottie mixed, sweet boy who now walks perfectly by our side on the leash. Gentle boy who loves to be loved, will do anything to please. A big suck who loves playing with other dogs, friendly & nice. He listens well, food motivated so is very easy to train. When he came in, he would jump up and put his paws on counters or tables, ripped the blanket in the car on his way to the vets but has learned not to do such things and learning more every day. Approx 1, 1.5 years old, now neutered, rabies, DAPP-L & tested negative for heartworm & Lyme. A great dog, with more time and patience, he will make a great addition to any family.

Gypsy – 3 year old Chihuahua who came in very scared of people. She is such a lovely and sweet girl but still shy at times and may yelp if scared. She is very smart, learnt that if she pretends to charge your hand – you will leave her alone lol. She has been seen to poo or pee when really scared, again not something that happens with us any longer but just in case she does it the first day or so with new people and new home! We really would like her to be spoiled rotten, she surely deserves it – she seems to have gone through a lot in her short years. No kids for this little one, sudden movements are very scary to her!

Dumbo – 7-8 month old Belgian Shepherd possibly mixed? All legs and so funny! Wants to be by your side all the time, a big suck! Now neutered, Rabies, DAPP-L, dewormed, multi-advantage and ready for adoption. Definitely looking for a home that wants a dog who will follow them everywhere and be by their sides, such a cuddle bug! Still a puppy so will need some training, getting better at not pulling on walks and is very food motivated so will be super easy to train. He does sit a soon as we walk in the house now as he now knows he has to wait until I remove the leash before bolting for his food bowl. He stopped nipping our fingers and jumping up on us but we see that he does it with new people, he also leans on you – wants to sit so close to you lol Once this dog has a patient home who takes the time to show him a few more trick – he will be so great! Right now, he is a puppy who need some time and training with an amazing and funny/playful personality!

Rosita – 2 year old Female chihuahua who is looking for her loving home. She was afraid of people at first but now loves everyone she meets. Although sometimes shy for a minute, she now greets everyone with kisses. In our home, she is full of spunk and loves being on our lap!. Rosita is also learning being carried around or lifted, she makes me laugh when we pick her up as she opens her mouth as if she is shocked hahaha. Spayed, Rabies, DAPP-L, blood work done & negative for heartworm, dewormed, etc…. She is very docile and quiet, may try to hide in a corner the first day but she will come around. From the streets of Mexico! Very lovely caring dog who will jump on you and follow you everywhere! All our pooches are going for an ultrasound this weekend, including Rosita!

Benny, 2-3 year old Maltese? Follows me everywhere, loves to give kisses and licking your hands. Such a lovely little dog! Fully vetted, neutered, blood work done for heartworm & lyme negative , DAPP-L, Rabies and an ultrasound booked this weekend – not a necessity but an extra item for our clients. In this picture he doesn’t know that I am preparing him for a bath hahaha, so good in his baths, doesn’t move and enjoys the soaping and scratching everywhere. Was afraid of the grooming tool but we took a less noisy one and he just sat there licking my hand. Bad groom but hey, not my specialty lol

Ginger – year old Labrador mixed, spayed, rabies, DAPP-L, bloodwork & heart worm tested negative, health check, dewormed, etc… Very sweet girl, loves other dogs and playful, great personality and wants to please. Clean in our home, just a great little girl approx 30 pounds – from Mexico streets. We noticed she is afraid of certain men, tall & skinny lol but others are OK. She must have had a bad experience with certain men that weren’t so gentlemen with her! Such a great dog, listens well, great playful personality except with that one person where she shook the whole time and was quite jumpy! Otherwise has met many others that she was herself with! Such a sweet girl!

Pedro – Such a personality lol. Was afraid of people when he arrived but now loves attention and everyone he meets. Tail wagging all the time. Said to be approx 1.5-2 years old. May at times lower his head (cowards) with sudden movements from strangers but this will dissipate in time as he no longer does it with people he knows well. Neutered, Rabies, DAPP-L, tested negative for heartworm but positive for Lime and is on antibiotics for such to cure. Will have to be re-tested in 6 months but usually antibiotics do the trick and they re-test negative. Such a joy to be around, very curious and wants to check out everything. Wasn’t sure about other dogs at first but now walks with buddies and loves every dog he has met. Hasn’t played with toys yet but that will come in time. Lovely active boy who needs a routine and goes out often for his business. Send your adoption questionnaire from our site www.narc-cuarty.ca to be considered to meet our fur-babies. Better pictures to come! For now meet Mr. Walk of Shame – cone head lol

Luke – 2 year old Terrier who is a bit shy at first but then follows you very closely. This boy wants to be loved and will bond with his new owner and stay by their side. Neutered, Rabies, DAPP-L, bloodwork & heart worm tested negative, health check, dewormed, etc… Clean in our home, approx 30 pounds – from Mexico streets.

Rita: approximately 4 years old, mixed breed, small at around 11 pounds. Spayed, DAPP, Rabies, dewormed, multi-advantage, etc. Great little girl, very submissive, super sweet who still needs some house training. She is getting pretty clean in the house but at times still has accidents. Wants to please, will follow you everywhere, be your best friend and give you tons of love!

Sofia: Our beautiful medium sized almost 40 pounder, 1 year old sweet girl is ready for her loving home. She is so cute and friendly, very submissive and although some things are still new and a bit scary for her, she is coming along very well and will follow us everywhere. Very gentle, loves cuddles and a belly rub, does still coward when new people go to pet her head but this will change in time once she builds confidence. Such an amazing dog, great with all the other dogs she has met including tiny 4 pounders, she wants to meet them all and be their friends. Sofia is fully vetted and ready for adoption.

Zorro (now Moose) – 8 months old Labrador mixed, neutered, rabies, DAPP-L, bloodwork & heart worm tested negative, health check, dewormed, etc…. Such a goofy dog, so funny and lovable, follows you everywhere, wants to be by our side and loves other dogs he has met. Big baby who may pee of excitement when he first meets you but not a regular thing. Very sweet and loving big boy of approx 33 pounds – from California.

Milly – is an amazing dog who loves to be loved but is scared of strangers & people. She is doing extremely well here as she is now comfortable and accepts most strangers coming for visits- some men are more scary!! After meeting a few girlfriends only twice, she smiles for them when they visit and gets very excited to see them again. Best in a country home, back yard and no public walks as she gets very scared in public places if there are too many people- it is not pleasant for her nor us! She is fine with me, my brother, friends and my daughter pretty much anywhere and with anyone as she understands we do not accept barking at strangers but this took some time with proper training. Spayed & fully vetted, approx 2.5 years old.

I just wanted to let you all know that Maya is doing very well. She seems to be pretty well house-trained and seems quite happy with all the attention she is getting. She is in love with my son and sits by the front door for hours near his shoes when he leaves. When he comes in late at night, she jumps off my bed and runs down to the basement to be with him. Ha ha. She is so happy. She is a lovely little girl. I was wondering if you think Winston would be a good companion for her. I noticed that you kept him in a large cage with a big grey dog when I was there. Is there a reason for this. Do you think he and Maya would get along. Sorry, the question mark key on my keyboard does not function. By the way, I am taking Maya to the vet this weekend and have not received her papers from you yet. Did you say you were goiong to mail them to me or did I imagine that. Does she need to get a parvo shot. Is this usual. Anything else I should tell the vet about her. Gisele

Magoo is probably Lhasa-Poo (Lhasa Apso mixed Poodle) and Cloette is probably Shi-Poo (Shih-Tzu mixed Poodle). We don’t DNA them but from their looks, this is what the vet’s and NARC think they are in breeds. Thanks.

  20. mec says:

What breeds are Cloette and Magoo, please?

  21. Jamie Leigh says:

I had adopted Yukie (a husky) back in May. Not only was ashe a good looking dog my boyfriend and I knew she was so smart. Yukie aka Sadie is the best thing in our lives.

We are fostering Twiggy and I want to say that at first I thought that I didn’t know what we were getting ourselves into, but from the first day we brought her home she really surprised us.
She is very well behaved in the house; and it took only a few days to train her to go to the bathroom.
She came to NARC emaciated therefore we thought that she would have food aggression, however its quite the opposite, she is so gentle accepting food, and no matter how hungry she is, you can take food out of her mouth and she will give in up without a fight. She is also not a picky eater.

She is a gorgeous dog, when we take her to the park we get a ton of comments on her bread and looks. She is a fast runner, almost makes me think she part Grey Hound.

She loves everyone, all dogs and has a very gentle nature. At the park she just wants to play with every dog she sees and is gently with the little dogs.

She is truly a wonderful dog and would make a great pet for any family or individual.
She only needs the chance to prove it 🙂

Hi there, I was wondering if Chucky has found a home yet? I’m interested in meeting him this weekend – possibly Sunday if you could get back to me please? Thank you!

  25. mmayer3 says:

We don’t have background information on our rescues, most are found as strays – if you look at our website further, you will see that we only take death row dogs from pounds, SPCA’s and Humane Societies, we don’t take releases so wouldn’t have any background information on any of the dogs we rescue.

  26. Tory Melnyk says:

I just noticed that you have another male chihuahua that you just picked up and would like to maybe have a look at him too if you wouldn’t mind. I will watch for pictures of him on the site. Thanks.

    Hi,

I am very interested in little Skippy but have a million questions before I can get out to see him. Hopefully he hasn’t been adopted yet.

I was looking for a Chi with Skippy’s exact write up but will take a younger Chi if Skippy has found his forever home. I was looking specifically for a small Chi if at all possible and since I am have a disability I will have to speak with you first before I come out to Navan.

I guess I can ask the questions here too. The questions are: Do you know anything about Skippy’s background? Does he have any serious medical issues? Is he completely pee pad trained? This pee pad question is very important. What is his personality like? Is he okay with cats, I have one 12 year old Himalyan who has been around dogs? What is Skippy’s height and weight? How long is he? I ask those last questions as I was looking for a small Chi? I am hoping Skippy is still available. Thank you for your time.

  35. Cheryl Chartier says:

Bunny is a wonderful little dog that I was lucky enough to have in my home for four days. She is very loving and extremely well behaved. She walks well on a lead and does not pull. She is house trained (at least there were no mistakes in my apartment although I did take her out often). She travels beautifully in the car while crated and slept overnight in her crate with no accidents!! She is friendly when meeting other dogs . She was quiet after a few lessons on not barking in the apartment and settled in well. I fell in love with Bunny and my full intention was to adopt her but she was not well accepted by my Jack Russell terrier who is a dominant female.
Make no mistake, in spite of her 8lbs Bunny is tough and stands her ground but she was no match for the Jack!!!
Fortunately I was on the Foster to adopt program and when I phoned Michelle and told her there was a problem with my dog accepting Bunny she quickly agreed to take her back to her friends at NARC.
I am very very sad to loose such and excellent dog – she was perfect for me but it was not meant to be.

If anyone is looking for an excellent little loving dog please have a look at Bunny. I warn you though once you pick her up in your arms then take her for a walk you will be caught in her charm!!!

I adopted Zoomba (shih-tzu) now Beau, last October, and am seriously considering adopting a little sister to join us. Are there any young hypoallergenic girls ‘soon’ to be available. I say ‘soon’ as I will need to take a few weeks off my job to work with them and ensure they know that there is only one pack leader – me. Beau is 2.5/years and I would like a younger sister 18-24 mths. Thanks

  37. mmayer3 says:

One little girl left, beige and white and scruffy looking!

  38. Agnieszka says:

I am currently fostering Pompei. He is a wonderful dog and I enjoy having him at the house.

He is very affectionate and cuddly. As soon as you walk up to him he leans his head against you and enjoys the affection you give him. He has a very gentle nature and is great with children and other dogs.

He travels very well in the car, sometimes I forget that I have a dog in the back because he sits there so quietly.

His fur is longer now, so he looks a lot different….much cuter than in the photo above. He also does not shed.

Pompei would make a great pet for anyone, and I’m not sure how he ended up at the shelter in the first place.

  39. sophie says:

i was just wondering if the puppies are still available – would be interested in seeing the white and light brown one.
